Do you see this?
Let me explain... on the step there is a crack vile...
and right in front of our steps...rolling papers...
Images like these remind us why we live and serve here. Images like these don't make me mad, they make me pray. Images like these don't scare me, they remind me of God's plan. Yes they make me remember life before Kensington, when I walked out my front door and saw flower pots, bushes, and a nice sidewalk leading to my driveway. But I don't long for that. I wish there weren't crack viles and rolling papers on my front steps, but there are. That's why we're here, to bring hope to a hurting community. That's why the Miracle House exists, to help free people from a life filled with these. Please join us in praying for our safety, for recovery and for God's grace and peace to surround us all.

Hi, Carisa,
Your post reminds me to say an EXTRA prayer for you tonight! Thank you for being a wonderful example of a Christian mom living in a not-always-nice-place! It would sometimes feel "easier" to retreat to a life somewhere else, somewhere seemingly safer for our kids, but when God calls, we must follow. Love you, friend.
What a beautiful prayer and thinking - I love reading this!!! :-)
